Board Meeting

February 5, 2008

 

Call to Order:  The meeting convened at 10:02 a.m. with the following present:

 

                   Tom Egan, Chair

Cal Dickinson, Member

Steve Allison, Acting Executive Secretary

                   William Chase, Financial Services Manager

          Janet Whitney. Chief Industrial Appeals Judge

          Jane Beaulieu, Human Resources Manager

          Jay Raish, Confidential Secretary

 

Excused Absence:          Frank Fennerty, Jr., Member

 

Approval of Minutes:  The January 15, 2008 Special Board Meeting minutes were approved.

 

Leave Pools:  After discussion, we determined we would not establish sick leave pools at this time.

 

Weight Watchers:  After discussion, we determined the agency will not pay for participation in a Weight Watchers at Work program.

 

EMS/WMS Evaluations:  The Human Resources Manager reported that notification packets for EMS and WMS evaluations will be distributed by February 22. 

 

Hearing Case Assignments:  The Chief Industrial Appeals Judge distributed the Hearing Case Assignments for October-December 2007.  We are in the middle of the run-bid process.  The deadline for submitting bids is January 22.

 

Personnel:  The Chief Industrial Appeals Judge reported that (name redacted) has requested a voluntary demotion to an IAJ3 position and will be assigned a run through the run-bid process.  Rich Mackey has accepted the IAJ4 position in New Appeals.

 

Facilities:  The Financial Services Manager reported that drawings for the proposed Seattle space have been signed off on.  GA is working on the lease details.  A meeting regarding stairwell access in Olympia is taking place today.

 

Minutes Posted on Internet:  The Confidential Secretary will consult with the Executive Secretary regarding minutes posted on the internet.

 

PSRW:  Public Service Recognition Week is May 5-9.  This matter is TICKED to the February 19 Special Board Meeting.

 

Adjournment:  There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 10:27 a.m.
